Citroën Jumpy, Opel Vivaro, Peugeot Expert: two electric versions

PSA announces that its compact vans will be offered in 2020 with two types of batteries. The maximum range will be 300 km.

At PSA, the range’s electrification promise also concerns utilities. For compact vans, there will be a 100% electric variant. The group had already announced a launch in 2020. The date is confirmed today. And this time, PSA gives the first elements of the technical sheet.

The Citroën Jumpy, Opel Vivaro and Peugeot Expert will be offered with two batteries. The access version will have a capacity of 50 kWh, which will give a range with the WLTP cycle of 200 km. The above variant will have 75 kWh, with a range of 300 km. It is starting to become interesting for professionals who work in a specific sector, such as delivery people. PSA is also targeting those who work in metropolitan areas who are preparing to hunt for thermal vehicles! Paris and Strasbourg will ban diesel on their streets by 2025.

PSA does not yet give details on the engine. These models will be manufactured in France in the Hordain factory, with an electric traction chain assembled in Trémery. The group will continue with an electric version of the small vans (Berlingo, Partner…). Large models are also planned in electric, thanks to a transformation ensured by a partner.
