In Poland, they are preparing for the production of Izera electric vehicles. Their production will start in 2024 at a new plant in Jaworzno near Katowice. This is reported by the official website of the new automaker.

Izera electric cars were presented in 2020 in the status of prototypes, and now details of production models have appeared. The project is the brainchild of a consortium of Polish energy companies PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA, Energa SA, Enea SA and Tauron Polska Energia SA.

The Izera brand is named after the Jizera Mountains in southern Poland. Its models will be relatively inexpensive, and the creators see Skoda electric cars as their main competitors.

It became known that the compact crossover Izera Z1000 will go into production first, followed by the B-class hatchback T1000, and later the family station wagon will be shown. All models are built on the SEA modular platform from the Chinese concern Geely. This architecture is also used by Google’s first Smart crossover and Waymo self-driving taxi.
