Mercedes-Maybach GLS from Mansory: Carbonized powerhouse

The luxury SUV now delivers 820 hp and develops a torque of 980 Nm

Mansory can’t keep their hands off Mercedes products. The tuner’s latest project takes the luxurious Mercedes-Maybach GLS as a basis and is just a gentle design makeover for a change. The exterior, however, hides more extensive changes under the hood, where the SUV gets a big boost in performance.

In the engine room, Mansory goes a bit crazy by modifying the control unit, installing new turbochargers and installing a new sports exhaust system. This increases the performance of this GLS to 820 hp and the torque climbs to a maximum of 980 Newton meters.

The improved Mercedes-Maybach GLS reaches an electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h. The 100 km/h mark is cracked from a standing start in just 4.4 seconds. But the increase in performance is just one aspect of the SUV that Mansory likes to modify. The tuner also gives the model a complete makeover and offers almost all body parts in carbon or with carbon accents.

At the front, Mansory is providing the GLS with a new front apron and an integrated front lip as well as new LED daytime running lights. Mansory leaves the design of the radiator grille untouched and instead offers to leave the part as is, to darken it or to finish it in carbon.

New side skirts, a new diffuser and a modified rear bumper are just as much part of the Mansory update as new carbon caps for the side mirrors, a somewhat questionable cow catcher and huge 24-inch rims.

In the interior, Mansory offers customers full leather interiors and 3D leather embossing. On request, the refiner can also install a new leather/carbon steering wheel and carbon inserts. And oh wonder: This version is a bit more subtle than others by the refiner.

Incidentally, Mansory does not name a price for the complete conversion. But if you order all the craziness, a number in the six-digit range can certainly be expected. But that shouldn’t bother Maybach owners as much, right?
